It's time to move Forward with Jesus! Are you ready to make the move? Yeah, that's right, it's your move! Jesus laid down His life already and said, "It is finished!" - He has accomplished His part, now it's time for you to fulfill yours.
You ask, "What is my part?" I'm glad you asked. James wrote, "Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded (James 4:7-8)." The first step to moving forward is to - Submit to God!
I have shared the following story before, but it's worth repeating. Paul Aiello, Jr. writes about it:
The captain of the ship looked into the dark night and saw faint lights in the distance. Immediately he told his signalman to send a message" "Alter your course 10 degrees south." Promptly a return message was received: "Alter your course 10 degrees north."
The captain was angered; his command had been ignored. So he sent a second message: "Alter your course 10 degrees south--I am the captain!" Soon another message was received: "Alter your course 10 degrees north--I am seaman third class Jones." Immediately the captain sent a third message, knowing the fear it would evoke: "Alter your course 10 degrees south--I am a battleship." Then the reply came "Alter your course 10 degrees north--I am a lighthouse."
Jesus is the lighthouse friends. He is the light of the world! If we are going to move forward without a shipwreck, we must be willing to alter our agendas and our course according to His Word and His leading. This truly is the first step to moving forward.
