Praying the Word - Pastor Drew

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

And if we know that he hears us--whatever we ask--we know that we have what we asked of him. 1 John 5:14-15

How do we know the will of God? His Word is His will. If you know the Word of God you will know His will. Hosea proclaimed, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6)." Life is the byproduct of knowing the will of God. Another byproduct of knowing God's will is answered prayer. When we pray according to God's Word, which is His will, we will have what we have asked of Him. Why do so many prayers go unanswered? Because we don't know the will of God.
I have found that praying God's Word over my life is extremely effective. Psalm 119:132-135 is a great prayer that you can pray over your life. let me highlight this prayer for you.
1. Look upon me oh God.
2. Be merciful unto me.
3. Show me favor oh God.
4. Establish my steps and direct them according to your Word.
5. Let no sin have dominion over me.
6. Deliver me from the oppression of man.
7. Make your face shine upon me and
8. Teach me your statutes - Your Word and your ways!
Pray the above eight points with sincerity of heart and faith and watch and wait for the answered prayers. God is faithful friend! He doesn't lie. He will hear your cry and answer prayer according to His will!
