"Good people enjoy the positive results of their words..."  Proverbs 13:2

The words you speak can make a difference.  Just yesterday I was challenged with the words I use to present the Gospel; a good challenge, it made me think.  Sometimes we need to be challenged with the words we are speaking.

Today I received a letter and in that letter I had a similar message about words.  Here is just a line or two from that letter - "God has been teaching me some things.  I have been more faithful in studying His word and confessing His promises for me.  As I do, my thoughts change, which change my actions, which eventually change results (anonymous)."  How true it is, our words can affect the atmosphere in which we live, think, and act.

Our words are often influenced by the thoughts we are thinking.  Examine your thoughts.  Are they thoughts of life or death?  Are they anxious thoughts or thoughts of joy and peace? Your thoughts will eventually affect your emotions, emotions will affect the words and words, actions. 

You will become what you think on and what you confess.  James wrote about the tongue, "We all make many mistakes, but those who control their tongues can also control themselves in every other way (James 3:3)."  Controlling the tongue in all matters is definitely a work of God. 

Lord, I believe you have given us the grace to control our tongues today!  Blessings on you!
